Panchkula, June 3 -- A special POCSO court in Panchkula has convicted a shop worker for molesting a 12-year-old girl and threatening to kill her, sentencing him to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 8 of the POCSO Act.
Additional Sessions Judge Manish Dua of the Special POCSO Court also imposed one year of imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 3,000 under Section 506 of the IPC for criminal intimidation. Both sentences will run concurrently.
The incident occurred in 2023 when the 12-year-old girl went to a shop near her home to buy some items. A worker at the shop forcibly pulled her inside, molested her, and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
