Neeraj BaliChandigarh, June 23 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested senior Haryana cadre IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal in connection with its investigation into an alleged Rs 661-crore banking fraud involving government funds.

A court in Panchkula subsequently remanded the officer to two days of CBI custody for further questioning.

Officials familiar with the probe said the investigation relates to suspected financial irregularities involving accounts associated with government bodies, including the Haryana School Education Project Council and the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board.
