Patna, March 14 -- A special court in Patna constituted to hear criminal cases related to Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly (MP-MLA) on Friday allowed ruling JD(U) legislator from Mokama Anant Singh to cast his vote in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
Special Judge Praveen Kumar Malviya delivered the verdict after hearing a petition filed by Singh's counsel Sunil Kumar.
Through the petition, the lawyer stated that voting for the Rajya Sabha elections is scheduled to be held in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on March 16.
He informed the court that Singh is lodged in jail but is an eligible voter as an elected MLA and prayed to the court to allow him participate in the voting process under police security.
