Nagpur, Jan. 14 -- : The State Excise Department has uncovered an illegal unit engaged in manufacturing counterfeit Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) in Nagpur district and seized liquor and related materials worth Rs 24.67 lakh, officials said on Wednesday.

According to officials, excise personnel carried out a raid on Tuesday at a bungalow located in Gondwana Pimpri area of Hingna, where the illicit operation was being run.

During the raid, the team confiscated 1,090 litres of spurious liquor blend, 356 bottles of liquor prohibited for sale in Maharashtra and 90 bulk litres of another counterfeit alcoholic beverage.
