New Delhi, April 6 -- In March, the cost of home-cooked vegetarian thali was flat on-year, while that of a non-vegetarian thali fell by 1 per cent, said Crisil's Roti Rice Rate (RRR) report released here on Monday.

The report noted that despite lower onion, potato, and pulse prices, the cost of a veg thali remained stable due to higher tomato, vegetable oil, and fuel prices.

Price of Tomato rose 33 pc on-year to Rs 28 per kg in March 2026 from Rs 25 per kg in the corresponding period last year.

The price hike is due to transplantation in key producing regions like Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, which have adversely affected crop development, yield, and timely arrivals.
