Thiruvananthapuram, July 13 -- The installation of solar panels on residential rooftops by ordinary citizens has come to a standstill due to widespread corruption in Kerala, alleged Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan.
He criticised the Electricity Regulatory Commission, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), and the State Government - entities entrusted with protecting the interests of electricity consumers-for allegedly facilitating corruption by favouring private companies.
Satheesan demanded the immediate withdrawal of the draft amendment to the renewable energy regulations concerning solar power plants in the state.
