Asansol, May 19 -- With repeated drowning incidents turning the Damodar River into adeadly hazard across large parts of West Bengal's Asansol South Assembly constituency, stae Minister Agnimitra Paul has announced that strict measures will be undertaken to prevent further tragedies.

The Damodar River stretches across the southern edge of the constituency, covering vast areas from Burnpur to Tirat and Narayankuri, where multiple drowning deaths have been reported inrecent times. After winning from this constituency and becoming a minister, Paul has now taken a firm stand on the issue.
