Chennai, Nov. 21 -- A popular copper wire manufacturing company ManagingDirector was arrested today in connection with Rs 34.81 crore GST evasion caseand remanded in judicial custody.
An official release said the Chennai North CGST Commissionerate arrested thebased on the intelligence, that huge turnover is being suppressed and tax wasevaded by M/s. G and T Industries Private Limited.
The company was located at Vadaperumbakkam, Chennai.
A search was conducted on November 11 during which substantial volume ofincriminating digital and documentary evidences like cash slips, quotations,UPI/bank transactions etc. were recovered.
The company is engaged in manufacture and sale of copper winding wires andcopper strips.
