Prayagraj, Oct. 21 -- A 40-year-old contractual roadways driver was brutally lynched by five assailants using bricks and stones in the Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj this afternoon.
The victim, identified as Ravendra Kumar alias Munnu, was attacked near the Mundera Chungi petrol pump following a heated argument that escalated into a violent assault. Eyewitnesses said Ravendra was chased and hit on the head with bricks while attempting to flee. He was rushed to SRN Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The news of his death triggered massive outrage among his family and villagers from Neemsarai. Protesters placed the body on the Prayagraj-Kanpur highway, blocking traffic for over three hours.
