Kolhapur, June 1 -- Maharashtra Minister Prakash Abitkar has said that a high-level meeting was held with the Karnataka goverment last week to coordinate to prevent a flood-like situation in the two states regarding the Krishna river flood waters, the water level of the Almatti irrigation dam and the Hipargi dam located in that state.
In a press conference, held at the district collector office this evening after the District Planning Committee meeting, Abitkar, who is also district guardian minister, said that orders have been given to collect all the information regarding the wooden bridges and small bridges in the district, especially in the rural areas, before the monsoon season and study their condition.
