Hyderabad, April 2 -- The construction of dedicated buildings for women Self Help Groups (SHGs) is gathering pace across villages in Telangana, with the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department accelerating works under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme.

Aimed at providing permanent working and market spaces for women, the initiative-conceptualised by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka-is expected to boost economic and social empowerment at the grassroots level.

According to official data, land parcels have been identified in 8,193 villages, with approvals secured for 6,261 buildings and estimates prepared for 5,017 structures. Construction is progressing rapidly across the state.
