Aizawl, July 20 -- The construction of the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Tlungvel has come under renewed scrutiny after the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC) found that the project remains incomplete despite missing multiple deadlines, with concerns also raised over the quality of work executed.
The residential school, being constructed under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for Scheduled Tribe students at the middle and high school levels, is intended to provide free education of national standards along with modern residential and academic facilities.
The project, awarded to VRS Construction of Zonuam, Aizawl, carries a tender value of Rs 24 crore and an agreement value of Rs 23.3361 crore.
