Sultanpur, Feb. 17 -- A police constable was injured in celebratory firing during a tilak ceremony in Sultanpur. The accident occured on Monday evening, and the constable was referred to a higher medical center in Prayagraj after initial treatment and is reported to be out of danger, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Karamjitpur village under the Motigarpur police station area. According to police, the ceremony was organized for constable Ankur Shukla, who is posted in the excise department in Rae Bareli. Fellow constables Vineet Mishra and Surendra Yadav had attended the function.
