Prayagraj, April 28 -- In a major decision, the Allahabad High Court has ruled that consensual and long-term physical relations between adults are not rape.
The Allahabad High Court granted an anticipatory bail application to an accused in a rape case.
The court granted the accused conditional anticipatory bail, stating that he will cooperate with the police in the investigation.
This order was passed by a single bench of Justice Rajiv Lochan Shukla on Tuesday.
The accused petitioner had filed an anticipatory bail application in the High Court to avoid arrest after an FIR was registered at the Sidhari police station in Azamgarh.
The petitioner's lawyer stated in court that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case.
