New Delhi, June 10 -- The Congress on Wednesday appealed to the Election Commission to immediately intervene and overturn the rejection of senior leader Meenakshi Natarajan's Rajya Sabha nomination, arguing that the Returning Officer's decision was legally untenable and threatened the principles of free and fair elections by excluding a candidate from the contest before the electoral process could even begin.
