Ranchi, May 25 -- Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday criticised the Centre over the increase in petrol and diesel prices and announced a signature campaign at petrol pumps in Ranchi against the rise in fuel costs.
Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh alleged that rising inflation had increased the financial burden on the common people and accused the Central Government of prioritising tax collection over public relief.
He claimed that excise duty and other taxes imposed on petrol and diesel had pushed fuel prices to high levels, affecting transportation, agriculture, food items and other essential commodities.
