New Delhi, June 24 -- The Congress on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over reports alleging that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his family members purchased around 168 acres of land in Ujjain after he assumed office, and questioned the ruling party's silence on the matter.
Terming the allegations a "land scam," the opposition party claimed that the entire BJP ecosystem was complicit in shielding corruption.
Addressing a press conference at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters, senior Congress leader Pawan Khera, accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari, said the issue raised serious questions of propriety and conflict of interest.
