Mumbai, Aug. 5 -- Senior Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe today said that a tweet posted from the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee's official X account regarding Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar was not intended to insult or demean her, alleging that the controversy was being used for political gain.

Responding to the row over the now-deleted post terming Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar as "Goongi Gudiya" (mute doll), Londhe said the tweet referred to a term used by socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia in the context of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi under a specific political situation, and was not directed at Sunetra Pawar personally.
