Ranchi, May 19 -- Indian National Congress Jharkhand unit president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh on Tuesday alleged that eligible voters were being excluded during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and said the party would oppose any arbitrary deletion of names.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Kamlesh said the Congress supported the SIR exercise but objected to its implementation process. He alleged that eligible voters were being removed from the rolls and claimed nearly 70 lakh voters in the state were yet to be mapped.
He said the party was appointing booth-level agents across Jharkhand and claimed appointments had been completed in 17,281 out of 29,000 booths.
