Ranchi, June 10 -- The scrutiny of independent candidate Parimal Nathwani's nomination for the Jharkhand Rajya Sabha election triggered a political confrontation on Wednesday, with the Congress questioning the neutrality of the Returning Officer and demanding greater transparency in the process.
Congress leaders raised objections during the scrutiny proceedings at the Jharkhand Assembly, alleging that their representatives were not being given adequate opportunity to present their case regarding alleged discrepancies in Nathwani's nomination papers.
