New Delhi, Dec. 2 -- Congress MP Vijay Vasanth on Tuesday moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha, demanding the immediate suspension of the Question hour to take up a discussion on the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Vasanth had cited concerns over the"rushed and unplanned" nature of the SIR drive.

Vasanth, representing Kanyakumari, alleged that the SIR process has put India's electoral system in crisis, with voter lists plagued by inconsistencies and manual errors.

"The voter rolls are full of errors, teachers and BLOs are working under unbearable pressure, and several have collapsed or died, with no inquiry or acknowledgement from the Election Commission," Vasanth stated in his motion. ...
