Mumbai, July 29 -- Congress MLA and Deputy Leader of the Congress Legislative Party Amin Patel has urged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to ensure that residents displaced due to redevelopment projects are not removed from the electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.
In a letter addressed to Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, Patel said a large number of occupants of old and dilapidated buildings in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra have been shifted to transit camps or rented accommodation while their buildings undergo redevelopment.
