Srinagar, July 3 -- A Congress legislator on Friday alleged that he was assaulted by workers linked to the National Conference (NC), including the brother of an NC MLA, during an official meeting in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, and warned that such incidents could adversely affect the Congress-NC alliance if left unchecked.
Addressing a press conference, the MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat said the incident occurred during an meeting attended by officers of the Rural Development Department, including the Block Development Officer (BDO), engineers, supervisors and village-level workers.
