Bengaluru, Aug. 27 -- BJP leader CT Ravi today warned that if current trends in the Congress party continue, "one day even singing the national anthem could become a punishable act within Congress".
The remark came amid criticism of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's recent apology for singing lines from the RSS anthem in the state assembly.
Ravi also accused Congress of double standards in patriotism, stating, "Saying 'Namaste Sada Vatsale' requires an apology, yet slogans like 'Pakistan Zindabad' face no scrutiny. This reflects the Congress mentality." He alleged that the Congress high command extends leniency to "traitors" while denying the same to patriots, questioning the party's true stance on nationalism.
