Ranchi, May 29 -- Congress' Jharkhand in-charge K. Raju and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka arrived in Ranchi on Friday to hold discussions with Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders on the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
The two leaders reached Ranchi by a chartered flight and proceeded to the Chief Minister's residence after being received by Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, minister Dipika Pandey Singh and other party leaders.
Sources in the Congress said the visit was aimed at building consensus within the ruling alliance regarding the two Rajya Sabha seats from Jharkhand, for which polling is scheduled on June 18. The nomination process will begin on June 1.
