Hyderabad, Oct. 22 -- Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency Congress in-charge Mohammed Waliullah Sameer on Thursday criticised AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for advocating independent Muslim political leadership in Uttar Pradesh while allegedly failing to develop such leadership across Telangana.
In a statement, while reacting to Owaisi's recent speeches, Sameer questioned why AIMIM had contested only nine of the 119 Assembly constituencies in Telangana in the 2023 elections and supported the then BRS in most other constituencies.
He alleged that AIMIM had confined Muslim political representation to a few constituencies instead of encouraging young leaders, women and professionals from across the State.
