Latur, Sept. 27 -- Congress leader and former MLA Dhiraj Vilas Rao Deshmukh has demanded that the state government immediately convene a special cabinet meeting to address the urgent needs of farmers in the flood-affected Marathwada region.
Deshmukh emphasised that heavy rainfall has caused substantial damage to livestock, soybean, sugarcane, orchards, and other crops across the rural areas of Latur district.
Speaking to media representatives, Deshmukh stated that if the administration genuinely prioritises farmers' welfare, it should hold a one-day special cabinet session within Marathwada. This, he argued, would ensure that affected cultivators receive timely financial assistance.
