Nahan, June 1 -- Sirmaur District BJP spokesperson Mela Ram Sharma criticized Congress leaders over the BJP's landslide victory in the Panchayat Raj elections in the district.

In a statement issued to the media, the district spokesperson said that the Congress party has lost its support base in Sirmaur district and throughout Himachal Pradesh and has no right to remain in power.

He said that the Congress party has lost badly in all three Zila Parishad wards in the state Congress president's own Renuka constituency, and in light of this defeat, state Congress president Vinay Kumar has no right to remain in power.
