Shimla, Aug. 1 -- Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday accused the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh of pursuing "politics of vendetta" by misusing the police and administrative machinery to target BJP leaders and elected representatives, alleging that democratic institutions were being weakened under the present regime.

Addressing a press conference here, Thakur alleged that the government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had, during its nearly four-year tenure, shifted its focus from governance and development to political confrontation.
