Hyderabad, June 9 -- Telangana BJP State President N Ramchander Rao on Tuesday alleged that the Congress government in Telangana was neglecting farmers' interests and failing to fulfil promises made before the elections.

Speaking to the media at Yadagirigutta in Bhongir district, Rao said farmers were facing severe hardship due to the slow pace of grain procurement and inadequate response from millers.

He alleged that farmers were unable to sell their produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and that procurement accelerated only after BJP leaders staged protests at procurement centres across the state.

He said the Congress party had promised to procure every grain before the elections but was now failing to implement the assurance.
