Shimla, May 18 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday expressed gratitude to the voters for extending overwhelming support to Congress-backed candidates in the urban local body elections and said the results reflected public faith in the policies and welfare programmes of the state government.
Congratulating party workers and winning candidates, the Chief Minister said Congress-supported candidates had emerged victorious in 32 out of 47 municipal bodies across the state.
He said the Congress-backed candidates received broad public support in all districts, adding that the trust reposed by the people would inspire the government to work with greater dedication, commitment and responsibility.
