New Delhi, June 2 -- Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Tuesday alleged that corruption and negligence within the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) contributed to the recent building collapse in Saidulajab near Saket Metro Station, which claimed six lives and left several others injured.

Addressing the issue, Yadav said reports indicating that the building had previously been flagged for alleged building violations and that concerns over ongoing construction had been brought to the notice of civic authorities have raised serious questions about enforcement and oversight.

The Congress leader demanded that accountability be fixed for the incident and called for compensation for the families of those killed and injured.
