Mumbai, May 10 -- Maharashtra Congress has strongly condemned Saturday's ink attack on Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson and ideologue Vikas Lavande, calling it an assault not only on an individual but also on Maharashtra's legacy of tolerance and saintly traditions.

In a press statement on Sunday, senior Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari alleged that the attack carried out by self-proclaimed Warkari activist Sangram Bhandare was an assault on the values of harmony and equality taught by saints like Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram.
