Puducherry, April 6 -- Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said his party was committed to confer Statehood status on Puducherry.
Addressing a public meeting at Lawspet here in support of candidates for the Congress-led INDI Alliance, which also comprised the DMK, for the April 9 Assembly elections, Mr Rahul expressed regret that Puducherrty was not run by the people of this state.
