Lucknow, Feb. 11 -- The Congress party has sharply reacted to the Uttar Pradesh budget, calling it disappointing and directionless. Congress Legislature Party Leader Aradhana Mishra "Mona" said the budget is completely "dry and empty," offering nothing new for the state's youth, farmers, women, and small businesses.

Mishra told media persons here on Wednesday that despite such a large budget, the government has not introduced any concrete new schemes. She said that in a budget of approximately Rs 9.12 lakh crore, only Rs 43,000 crore has been allocated for new schemes, which is not even 5 per cent of the total budget.
