Mumbai, Dec. 28 -- In a significant development ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, the Indian National Congress and the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) on Sunday announced a formal alliance for the civic polls.
The alliance was made public at a joint press conference addressed by Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal and VBA leader Dhairyavardhan Pundkar.
Sapkal confirmed that discussions are in progress to explore alliance possibilities across the remaining 28 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, signalling a broader opposition strategy within the state's urban electoral landscape.
