Chennai, Aug. 31 -- Congress, MP Sasikanth Senthil, representing Tiruvallur Lok Sabhaconstituency in Tamil Nadu, is on an indefinite fast in protest against the Centre's refusal torelease due funds to the tune of Rs 2,152 crore to the state under the SSA scheme.

He began his silent fast at his constituency on Friday and it entered the third day today.

As his blood pressure levels went up, he was shifted to Tiruvallur Government Hospitallast evening, where he continued his fast.

Considering his health condition, he was shifted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government GeneralHospital in Chennai this evening in an ambulance.

The MP said he would continue his fast and would not relent till the funds were disbursed.
