Mangaluru, Sept. 2 -- Allegations of a seven per cent "KRIDL charge" being forcibly collected from contractors have triggered a government probe in Karnataka, with Puttur Congress MLA K Ashok Kumar Rai accusing two KRIDL engineers of allegedly seeking money in the names of ministers.
In a letter to Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Rai alleged that contractors executing government works through Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd (KRIDL) were subjected to harassment, intimidation and demands for money by Mangaluru division Executive Engineer Vijay and Junior Engineer Prajwal.
