Shimla, Dec. 2 -- Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani on Monday introduced the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Himachal Pradesh Amendment Bill, 2025, in the Vidhan Sabha, proposing significant changes to the selection process of the state's RERA authority.
The Bill seeks to replace the existing selection committee, which is headed by the Chief Justice of the High Court or their nominee, with a three-member panel chaired by the Chief Secretary. The panel will include the Housing Secretary as member-convener and the Law Secretary. In cases of conflict of interest, an Additional Chief Secretary or another senior officer may head the committee.
