Bengaluru, Oct. 25 -- A political war of words intensified in Karnataka today, with Congress leader Ramesh Babu questioning BJP leader and Legislative Council LoP Chalavadi Narayanaswamy's political rise even as he countered former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde's remarks on banning the Congress.

Speaking at the KPCC office, Ramesh Babu asked Narayanaswamy to explain who had supported him in his early political journey, recalling his days "cycling around Yelahanka", and whether it was Mallikarjun Kharge who had helped him gain a foothold in public life.

The remarks came in response to Narayanaswamy questioning whether Priyank Kharge or Mallikarjun Kharge had nurtured Dalit leadership.
