Patna, July 27 -- The Congress on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Bihar Police, accusing it of acting under political pressure and protecting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers instead of taking action against those allegedly responsible for an attack on the party''s state headquarters during the recent BJP march.
Addressing a press conference at the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, former Director General of Police (DGP) Karuna Sagar and Bihar Congress spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwari alleged that the police had refused to register an FIR on the complaint filed by the Congress despite what they described as a "planned and violent attack" on the party office.
