Bengaluru, May 25 -- With petrol prices in Bengaluru touching a record Rs 110.93 per litre, the Congress on Monday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led union government, accusing it of "fuel loot" and "pickpocketing" ordinary citizens through repeated hikes in petrol, diesel, LPG and CNG prices.
Addressing a press conference here, senior Congress leader and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala alleged that the Centre had raised petrol and diesel prices four times in the last 11 days, increasing rates by Rs 7.52 per litre during the period.
"Never in the history of independent India has petrol crossed Rs 110 in Bengaluru. What should the salaried class do? What should auto drivers, labourers, traders and homemakers do?" he asked....
