Mumbai, April 20 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed confidence that the constitutional amendment providing 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies will be approved and implemented before the 2029 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference, Fadnavis said that the "power of women" in the country will play a decisive role in pressuring opposition parties-who are currently opposing the bill-to fall in line and support its passage.

To build momentum for the legislation, the Bharatiya Janata Party along with its allies plans to mobilize women across the state.
