Conditions favourable for cessation of Northeast monsoon in next 3 days in Southern peninsular India

Chennai, Jan. 13 -- The Met office on Tuesday the Northeast Monsoon has been vigorous overTamil Nadu and that conditions are favourable for the cessation of Monsoon rains in South PeninsularIndia in the next three days.

In an update, the Met office said rains lashed Cauvery Delta, South and North Tamil Nadu districts.

With the Northeast monsoon which should have withdrawn by December 30, 2025, has stretchedto January this year, leading to the formation of a Low Pressure Area over the Bay which had laterintensified into a Depression and as a Deep Depression, before it weakened and crossed the SriLanka coast two days back.
