Bengaluru, March 9 -- Concern has been raised in the Karnataka Legislative Council over reports that around 25 officers promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in the state have not yet undergone the mandatory induction training required under service rules.

Congress MLC Ramesh Babu has sought permission to raise the issue during Zero Hour, terming it a matter of public importance and urging the state government to take corrective action.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Council, he pointed out that officers promoted from the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) to the IAS are required to mandatorily undergo induction training before assuming responsibilities in the IAS cadre.
