Agartala, July 21 -- Newly-appointed Director General of Police G S Rao announced today that a committee of senior police officers will be formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suicide of Tripura DGP Anurag Dhankar.

This decision follows increased public scrutiny and calls for a transparent investigation into the matter.

His remains were flown from Agartala by a chartered plane to his native village Biharipur, of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh for the last rites, awaiting his son's arrival from Canada.

Besides, son, wife and brothers, Dhankar survived by his 80-yr-old mother in the village.
