Ranchi, Oct. 29 -- The incidence of brain strokes tends to surge during the winter season, with cases increasing by nearly 30 percent compared to other times of the year, cautioned neurologists. Individuals with pre-existing heart conditions are particularly vulnerable, as the season also witnesses a parallel rise in heart attacks and other cardiovascular emergencies.
According to Neuro and Spine Surgeon at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences ( RIMS), Dr. Vikas Kumar, "Stroke cases rise by 20-30 per cent during winters, and the likelihood of hemorrhagic stroke can double, particularly among elderly or hypertensive patients.
