Srinagar, Dec. 25 -- Cold conditions returned across Kashmir as night temperatures dropped sharply once again, a day after parts of the Valley witnessed a brief improvement in minimum temperatures.
According to the latest data by Meteorological Centre, the summer capital Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.2degC, slipping from 3.0degC the previous night.
Tourist resort Gulmarg saw mercury plunge to minus 5.4degC, compared to minus 1degC recorded earlier, while Pahalgam registered minus 4.4degC, down from minus 2.2degC the previous night.
The cold wave conditions intensified in several other areas as well. Sonamarg resort in central Kashmir emerged as the coldest place, recording a bone-chilling minus 7.3degC.
