Imphal, Sept. 1 -- The brutal killing of Pu Nehkam Jomhao, 59-year-old Chairman of the Thadou Literature Society (TLS), Assam on August 30, has triggered strong condemnation from two major civil society organisations in Manipur, who issued detailed statements on the incident today.
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) said it had been "shaken to its core by the horror and extremity of the murder of Jomhao, a respected old advocate for peace and influential Chairman of the Thadou Literature Society.
