Bhubaneswar, Nov. 15 -- In an attempt to further strengthen the coastal security mechanism in Odisha, the Coast Guard has decided to upgrade its operational infrastructure with deployment of additional fleet of ships for maritime patrolling, search and rescue operation Coast Guard IG (north East) Iqbal Singh Chauhan said in Paradip port town on Saturday.
Briefing media on the occasion of a maritime search and rescue workshop and sea exercise, Chouhan said the fleet of ships at Paradip coast guard will be increased while a CG ship will be deployed 24x7 at Gopalpur port.
